Mureka is Kunlun Tech’s AI music product and one of the more visible Chinese attempts to compete in the global AI music market. Its benchmark is obvious: Suno. But the strategic question is not whether Mureka can generate a decent song. It is whether it can find a differentiated market position.

Product Positioning

Mureka sits in the text-to-music category: users describe what they want and the product generates a song. This puts it in direct comparison with Suno and Udio, two products that already have strong mindshare among global users.

For a Chinese product, the opportunity may be in multilingual generation, creator monetization, Asian music styles, and integration with broader entertainment or social products.

Kunlun’s Advantage

Kunlun Tech has experience across gaming, social, entertainment, and overseas consumer products. That matters because AI music may not be a standalone destination forever. It may become part of short video, games, virtual characters, social apps, and creator platforms.

If Mureka can connect music generation with these scenarios, it may avoid competing only on raw model quality.

The Challenge

The challenge is that Suno has already become the default reference point for AI music. Competing directly requires either better output, clearer licensing, lower cost, stronger localization, or a unique workflow.

Chinese AI products also face brand and trust barriers in some overseas markets. For creative tools, users care about ownership, data, payment, and platform stability.

Why It Matters

Mureka matters because it represents China’s AI application companies moving from domestic tools into global creative categories. Its success will depend less on whether it can imitate Suno and more on whether it can define a different reason to exist.
